Founded in 1996, Archive Inc. Gallery and Art Libraryis a visual arts venue that combines both gallery and comprehensive digital library of artwork by Canadian artists available for rental or sale to film and television productions, corporations, designers of all disciplines, and the general public. The Archive Inc. Gallery functions as an extension of our commitment to the promotion of practicing artists by providing an opportunity to showcase current trends in contemporary art at the local, national and international levels. The programming is varied representing work in all media including installation, video, photography, painting and sculpture by artists at all stages of their career, from emerging to established. The Archive Inc. Art Library service has two important features: 1) a computerized catalogue of artwork on a digital database; 2) pre-arranged contracts with the artists wherein delicate copyright issues are resolved prior to the actual rental. As a complement to the computerized art library Archive houses files on all the artists represented in the database including support material such as artist statements, CVs, exhibition catalogues, videos and other promotional material.
