Art mart

If you haven’t had time to attend all the latest openings, you needn’t fear losing track of what’s happening in the art world. The very chic Archive on Queen West has it all covered- digitally. The brainchild of production designer Patricia Christie (left) and intern architect Johnson Chou, Archive is an art library that catalogues more than 4,000 artworks-photographs, paintings, sculptures and installations-from almost 300 Canadian artists. Film and TV people use its database for easy reference and rental. Should you be more of a noncommittal art fan, you can, too.

Works are for sale or lease (for a percentage of their sale price), but both the interior of the gallery and the groovester staff are so pretty, you might prefer to rent, just so you’ll have an excuse to return.
